Epithalon/Epitalon

Epithalon (also Epitalon) is a synthetic peptide that mimics epithalamin, a polypeptide found in the pineal gland. This boosts the body’s natural production of telomerase, an enzyme that helps cells produce telomeres. These telomeres act as cap protectors of our DNA that become worn out during DNA replication (the replication process is essential for cell division during the growth or repair of damaged tissues in the body). The length of telomeres, important cellular structures whose structural integrity is essential for maintaining cell viability, shortens as we age, since they get shorter every time they divide until they are so stubby that your cells stop dividing. That point in which the cells stop dividing is associated with a number of health conditions (e.g. cancer and cardiovascular disease) and a diminished lifespan. The good news is that not only can we preserve these telomeres, science has found ways to elongate them, extending the lifespan of the DNA and allowing it to replicate cells more efficiently.

Benefits

  • Suppresses the CCI11 and HMGH1 genes, regulating gene expression (the cell’s way of managing the amount any timing of the products created by our genes) and protein synthesis, increasing the lifespan of its subjects. This control is crucial because it allows cells to produce the necessary gene products when they are needed, allowing cells to adapt to a changing environment, respond to signals, and handle damage and other triggers. Protein synthesis is a core biological process occurring inside the cells, which balances the loss of cellular proteins through the production of new proteins.

  • Patients who cycled Epithalon twice a year for 3 years were evaluated 12 years afterwards, at which time it was discovered that they had experienced a 28% lower rate of overall mortality than their control group counterparts.

  • Inhibits carcinogenic receptor expression, leading to anti-tumor effects in breast and colorectal cancer. Helps to fight hormone-dependent tumors. Already adopted by the Russian medical industry for the inhibition of tumor development.

  • Regulates biomolecules involved in the inflammation process, such as cytokines and C-reactive proteins — this helps to treat conditions like rheumatoid arthritis and ulcerative colitis.

  • Oxidative stress accelerates aging, and Epithalon suppresses oxidative stress markers and prevents DNA damage in animal studies

  • Increases levels of melantonin, which leads to improved sleep cycles

  • Treats anovulatory infertility, a condition where women struggle to become pregnant due to the absence of ovulation, often caused by hormonal imbalance

  • Counteracts cellular senescence, preventing age-related decline and disease. Stimulates DNA repair; by stimulating DNA repair mechanisms in cells, Epithalon helps to fix some of these errors. Has even been proven to protect against radiation exposure induced DNA damage.

  • Improves retention and recall. Protects neurons from age-related dysfunction. Increases dendritic spines and branches in the brain, improving neuronal signaling and plasticity

  • Maintains circadian rhythms and hormone balance in the brain

  • Balances out programmed cell death so that cells live for just the right amount of time

  • May have therapeutic effects on anxiety, depression, and emotional regulation due to its impact on stress hormones and neuronal health

Possible Side Effects

  • Injection site reactions (redness, irritation, soreness)

Interactions

  • Concomitant use of strong immunosuppressants or biologic anti-inflammatory drugs may amplify immune modulation (caution advised)

  • Agents that increase angiogenesis or that affect repair/vascular pathways may theoretically have additive or synergistic effects

  • Given the repair/angiogenic axis, close monitoring of anticoagulent and antiplatelet medications is recommended

  • Concomitant use of antidiabetic agents may require dose monitoring due to a risk of hypoglycemia

Contraindications

  • Do not use if you are pregnant or breastfeeding

  • Do not use if you have an active cancer or seizure disorder
